What is Finding Peace?
Finding Peace is a forum for healthy dialogue around what others are doing to live within the bounds the Lord has set, and thrive in a gospel centered life. A place where God’s grace and power in our lives is openly discussed without apprehension or apology, and without the intent to change or convert others. Finding Peace is a place where opinions and experiences represent opportunities to learn and grow and where respect for each other as children of God is considered sacred.
This is an open group, where anyone is invited to attend whenever their schedule permits, without a time commitment in a likely already over-scheduled and busy life. Where an individual can attend without fear of being called on or called out, with the right to remain a silent observer for as long as they may wish.
This is a group where confidentiality is a firm commitment and where personal safety and mutual respect is upheld by all who attend.
Finding Peace is more than a social gathering of LGBTQ/SSA individuals. We value the power of community as a means of finding strength and in building relationships that enrich our lives.
For individuals who have never attended such a group, just walking through the door may require great courage. For others, this group offers a place of service and mentor-ship in an environment where everyone has the desire to learn and grow together.
Finding Peace is an independent group not associated or affiliated with North Star International, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or any other organization. Any opinions shared or expressed are strictly our own.
